About the author Ex RAF and Royal Navy navigator/observer (1968-1976), Peter Lawton gained a PPL in his own Auster in 1976 and a Flying Instructor’s rating in 1976. Since then he has fully exploited his love of flying as a crop sprayer, display pilot, seaplane operator, and airline pilot. In his role as an instructor, he has taught private and commercial pilots as well as new instructors.
